1.2. Overview of development history and outstanding achievements
Viet Xo College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was formerly known as the High School and Vocational Training School for Agricultural Construction and Rural Development., was established under Decision No. 02/NN-TCCB-QD dated January 3, 1997 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the basis of merging and reorganizing 3 schools:
– Central High School of Agricultural Mechanics (established in 1960)
– School of Agricultural Construction Workers (established in 1968)
– Vietnam-Soviet Agricultural Mechanical Workers School (founded in 1979).
The school was upgraded to Tam Diep Construction Mechanical and Electrical Vocational College according to Decision No. 1988/2006/QD-BLDTBXH dated December 29, 2006.
The school was renamed to Viet Xo Vocational College of Electrical Engineering and Construction according to Decision No. 358/QD-BLDTBXH dated 23/3/2012. In 2017, the name was changed to Viet Xo College of Engineering and Construction according to Decision No. 919/QD-BLDTBXH dated June 20, 2017.
The school's staff of teachers, officials and employees currently has 208 people. The teaching staff is 164, of which: 01 doctorate, 97 master, 63 have university degree, 03 intermediate level.
The annual training scale is from 3,000 to 3,500 students. Places of enrollment and supply of human resources are concentrated mainly in the southern part of the Red River Delta, north of the former Four Zones and the southwestern provinces. The development history of the University continues the good tradition of the previous member schools.
The school has 06 teachers awarded the title of excellent teacher, 26 teachers won the title of excellent teacher at the national level, 80 excellent teachers at the provincial level, 02 teachers received the Nguyen Van Troi award for vocational training.
Notable achievements in training:
– Won 07 Gold Medals, 01 Bronze Medal at ASEAN Skills Competition from 2010-2014;
– 04 excellent vocational certificates at world skills competitions from 2007-2013;
– At the National Skill Competitions, won 09 first prizes, 03 second prizes, 15 third prizes;
– At the ministerial-level skill contest, the province won 77 first prizes, 58 second prizes, and 26 third prizes;
– The first prize of the National Vocational Training Association in 2013;
– Second prize of the National Vocational Training Association in 2015;

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was established in September 2001, separated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the basis of the School's Repair and Use Department. Currently, the Faculty has two subject groups: the repair department and the use department.
After 17 years since the merger, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has always been evaluated as one of the leading faculties of the school in terms of the quality of teachers as well as the quality of vocational training. The current number of faculty members of the Faculty is 16, of which 08 have university degrees. Faculty's teachers have solid professional qualifications and are knowledgeable about pedagogy; have skills and teaching methods that meet vocational training objectives. Participating in teaching at the Faculty at present are mainly teachers of the Faculty, in addition, the school also mobilizes a contingent of part-time teachers who are teachers who have experience in training, who are currently teaching staff. The management department participates in teaching, including the profession of Automotive Technology at college level.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was assigned by the University to train two professions:
1. Operating the foundation construction machine.
2. Automotive technology.
With training levels: College; intermediate; primary.
Function:
The Faculty is directly under the Board of Directors, directly implementing the plan of teaching and educating students, ensuring the quality of vocational training under the management of the Faculty.
Mission:
- Organize training, teaching, learning and educational activities for students according to the program and plan assigned by the school;
- Management of officials, employees and students of the Faculty, subject groups. Timekeeping, commenting on emulation, assigning tasks and arranging working positions for teachers;
- The arrangement of teaching hours for leaders and managers of faculties, affiliated subject groups and trainee teachers is in accordance with the Decision on the norm of teaching hours of the Rector;
- Organizing, compiling and editing programs and textbooks. Research and improve teaching content and methods. Make annual plans for procurement, replenishment and maintenance of teaching equipment. Organizing the making of models and learning tools for teaching;
– Carry out experimental activities, scientific research, apply techniques and technologies to the vocational training process and participate in production activities combined with training;
- Organize professional and professional training activities for teachers of the Faculty, such as: seminars, scientific research, innovation initiatives, contests of good teachers, attendance, visits learning and exchanging experiences, penetrating practice for teachers by semester and school year. Carrying out the assessment of teacher quality, approving lesson plans, checking teaching records and approving teachers' annual personal work plans;
- Organize training for exam preparation for excellent students at all levels according to the school's plan;
- Synthesize and report the teaching results of the faculty, subject, and the quality of students' learning and training to the Training Department and the Student Affairs Department according to regulations;
– Organize the completion of the MH/MD exam, the semester exam, the graduation exam according to current regulations. Directly manage the organization of make-up, re-exam, extra-study, re-study... and settle fees with the Department of Finance and Economics;
– Organize non-formal training, manage and exploit classrooms, equipment, machinery, and teaching aids to ensure efficiency, safety and compliance with the Principal's regulations.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has 14 full-time teachers, including 08 teachers with master's degrees and 06 teachers with university degrees.

3. Information about the college-level automotive technology vocational training program
3.1. Development history and outstanding achievements
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was established in September 2001 and was separated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the basis of two professional departments: the Repair Department and the School's Use Department. Inheriting the tradition of two professional departments, after 17 years of development and growth, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has become one of the key faculties of the school with a sufficient number of teachers teaching at the Faculty. Quality assurance, responsibility, dedication to the profession. The facilities for vocational training that the Faculty is managing are sufficient in quantity and type with advanced technology to ensure good vocational education for learners. Since 2001 until now, the Faculty has trained thousands of students from colleges and universities of automobile technology and construction machinery operators, the percentage of students who have jobs right after graduation is over 80%.
