Giving up the opportunity to retake the university exam next year, Long actively researched, discovered and was really intrigued by the creative subject he had chosen. With well-trained vocational skills, Hoang Long was selected to try his hand at the Vocational Skills Exam held in early December in an online form. Long has excellently brought home the Silver award at this useful career playground.

Nurturing the dream of becoming a journalist during the years of sitting at school, in 2018, during the national high school exam, Nguyen Hoang Long (Yen Mo district) registered his wish to enter the Faculty of Journalism, University of Science and Technology. Social Sciences and Humanities. However, with a score of 21 is not enough for Long to realize his dream of entering the university lecture hall.

“Before that, like most of my classmates, I only set a goal to go to university to focus on striving. When I did not have enough points to get into the school, I was very disappointed and determined to review it so that next year I could take the exam again to my favorite university. But at home for a year, I was sad and hesitant, so I decided to choose the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Viet Xo College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering as a place to study temporarily "- Long recounted. From a student with a preference for social subjects, Long himself could not believe that he could acquire knowledge and skills in a technical subject so quickly and proficiently.

Especially, in the process of studying at the school, getting an apprenticeship in a professional environment, learning more about the opportunities that mechanical engineering can bring to himself, for the future, Long has changed his mind. think and decide to focus on vocational training. The more he learns, the more he feels that he loves and is more suitable for the profession. Long became one of the top students in the department.

Sharing about the recent skills exam, Long said that at the time of starting to prepare for this year's exam, at that time, he was in the process of practicing production at the enterprise. When receiving an invitation from the lecturer to directly prepare for this year's exam, Long himself also had many hesitations because if he participated in the vocational skills exam, Long would have to face a rather stressful task: just focus on studying for the final semester, studying for the graduation exam and preparing for the vocational skills exam.

However, realizing that this is a really good opportunity for himself, it's time to show his bravery and skills learned in a broader and more professional playing field, Long decided to accept and arrange time to review from the end of June 2021 under the direct guidance of lecturer Hoang Van Khai - a seasoned lecturer.

For Long, the initial review process was really a difficult challenge. Because of the fact that the knowledge for this exam is all advanced knowledge and skills that Long has not had the opportunity to come into contact with in the previous learning process.

Nguyen Hoang Long said that, in order to have a high-quality preparation process, Mr. Khai has always sought and updated new knowledge, skills and exam formats, approaching international standards to fully equip students pellets. Not only teaching students skillful job skills, Mr. Khai also instilled in him faith, passion and desire to win…

This year's vocational skills exam is the first time held in an online form. Therefore, I also made an effort to learn more about using VPS - a personal virtual server, and at the same time anticipate possible adverse situations such as the Internet without good speed, latency, stability. The network connection is not high, the problem of power failure… But the school is also very well equipped with facilities and equipment to create the best conditions for me to take the test.

With the careful preparation in all aspects and the spirit of doing the test comfortably and without pressure, Nguyen Hoang Long overcame nearly 20 excellent candidates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from vocational training institutions across the country. and won the Silver Award of the National Skill Competition.
