With the desire to escape poverty, two H'Mong boys Giang A Truong and Giang A Di have worked hard to study non-stop and reap the first sweet fruits.
Do not follow the path and then go back to poverty, the whole youth make friends with the buffalo and the plow like their peers, the two H'Mong boys Giang A Truong and Giang A Di in Tua Than commune, Tua Chua district, Dien Bien province boldly "left the village on the street" to attend a vocational school and won the first prize in the 2020 national vocational skills contest organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Overcome fate
Starting the story with us with distant eyes, thin and black face because of sunburn, Giang A Truong, born in 2000, reminisces about his miserable childhood in the high mountains. Sometimes my tears seem to be waiting to fall because I miss home and love my parents.
Truong shared: “My house is at the top of the mountain, and when I hear the rooster crowing in the morning, I know it's time to go to the fields, but I don't have a watch or phone.
The big road is 3 km from my house, the small path leading up to the house is just enough for a motorbike wheel to move around, it's okay in the sun, every time it rains, it's landslide, slippery, can't walk.
There were days when it was raining heavily, ran out of rice, my father went to the market to buy it, then the car had to be left on the slope, I was carrying a bag of rice naked, the road was slippery, and both rice and people fell into the stream, that day the whole family ate again. mud rice.
These things I witnessed year after year, my parents were miserable, worked hard but only felt hungry all year round, and because of this motivation, I was determined to go down the street to learn a trade.
Part of me also wants to change my own life in the future, the other part I want to open the way for other friends in the village by the path of knowledge.
I want you to realize that only by studying and getting yourself a job, you can only escape the year-round situation of going after the plow and the buffalo to get out of the vicious circle of poverty."

At Viet Xo College of Electrical Engineering and Construction (Tam Diep city, Ninh Binh province), in addition to Giang A Truong, there is also Giang A Di, born in 2000, who is also a H'Mong ethnic minority from the remote mountainous area. study.
My aunt lives in the same commune and attends the same high school class as Truong. Unlike her peers, Aunt is shy and quiet, but in this story, this guy always exudes a burning desire to change his life, wanting to make a small contribution to change his thinking, thinking, and thinking patterns. of the vast majority of mountain youths.
Auntie always wants to show that, no matter what the reason, he does not give up, does not surrender to fate but is determined to change, hoping one day the fire of knowledge and science on the villages of the H people 'Butts will be lit, helping people have better lives.
Sharing with us about her poor childhood, Giang A Di regretfully said: "My house is nearly ten kilometers from the school by the forest road, when I heard that I was accepted into high school, my father was happy, and my mother always advised me to take a break and get married and carry cassava with my mother to the fields.
For several nights in a row, I lay crying, then the teacher came to the campaign house, my parents also realized and agreed to let me go to school.
The first day of school was fun, but the way to school was arduous, one day it rained, got up very early to go to school, but didn't enter the class until the afternoon because the road was difficult.
The teacher saw that, so she told me to stay at school to make it less difficult, but I love my parents and children, so I try to go in the morning, come back at night, and help my mother on weekends to make it less difficult.
Like Truong, because the life in the village is still poor, the young people are not oriented to the future, the illiteracy rate is still high, so I want to go to school first to get a job, hopefully in the future I can return. help the villagers, then want to inspire the youth in the village, follow the word until the end, then you can change your life".
Sharing about the chance that the children came to Viet Xo College of Electrical Engineering and Construction to learn a trade, Auntie said that every year at the high school, there are teachers from lower vocational schools to provide vocational guidance.
True to the cherished desire, the children connected and were guided by the teacher to study at the school in class 16aK22, Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Because they are ethnic minorities and have a poor household book, when they study here, they also receive a lot of help, especially free support for accommodation in the dormitory, free tuition and monthly income. allowance of 1.3 million VND/month for living expenses.
Wishing to return to contribute to the homeland
Leaving behind the hills and white flowers, the two boys went to the street to attend school with many surprises, in the first days they encountered many difficulties in terms of living conditions as well as accommodation.
In addition, the living conditions in the city are expensive, so the first few months, the allowance is not enough to live, loving their parents in the countryside are still poor, so they do not dare to call down to send money, there are days when the two children starve from the whole family. class day.
Undeterred, the two decided to take advantage of the time outside of school to apply for part-time jobs in shops and cafes to earn extra income.
Entering the second year, partly because they were oriented to specialize in construction with wall and floor tiling skills, partly because they were progressive and eager to learn, the subject teachers discovered their abilities, at the same time, creating conditions for them to work at the construction site with teachers in their spare time.
In addition to supporting accommodation and meals, the teachers also pay the children 250,000 VND/day. Since the teachers' help, the children have also been able to reduce their economic burden and focus more on their studies.
Responding to the teachers' expectations, the children brought glory to the school with the first prize in the "National Vocational Skills Contest 2020" organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

Sharing with us about their future orientation after winning a high prize in such a big competition, they simply replied that, if they could be helped financially, they would go to university, When they have enough skills, they hope to have the opportunity to return to contribute to their homeland.
Talking to a reporter of the Vietnam E-Journal of Education about their plans, Mr. Phung Van Cao, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Viet Xo College of Electrical Engineering and Construction expressed:
“Knowing that they are children of ethnic minority people in the highlands, they are not afraid to travel hundreds of kilometers to school for vocational training, so leaders of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the school pay special attention to supporting them.
During the training process, Khoa also spent money to buy materials such as bricks, cement, sand and gravel so that the students could practice their skills so that they could confidently enter the competition.
With the school's vocational training background, almost every year, there are candidates participating in major competitions and winning prizes, and in the case of ethnic minority students taking the exam and winning the first prize, this is first case.
After winning the high award, the students also shared about their desire to transfer to university to improve their skills and qualifications.
Along with the desire to return to build for the homeland, we also strongly support.
However, to do that requires a lot of supporting factors, not just their talent.
Currently, the children have graduated and are no longer under the management of the school, but the teachers in the school still have some specific orientations for students to refer to.
In the immediate future, there are a few teachers in the school who are also the owners of the business directly receiving the work, so they boldly accepted the children to work at their company and supported the work for them to increase their income. ".
