Viet Xo College of Mechanical and Electrical Construction, formerly known as the High School and Vocational Training School, was established under Decision No. 02/NN-TCCB-QD dated January 3, 1997 of The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the basis of merging and reorganizing three schools: Central High School of Agricultural Mechanics (1960); Agricultural Construction Workers (1968); Viet-Soo Agricultural Mechanic Workers (1979).
On June 20, 2017, the school was renamed to Viet Xo College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, headquartered in Tam Diep city, Ninh Binh province.
Viet Xo College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is a public vocational education institution under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, capable of multidisciplinary, multi-level training, high quality training, contributing to improving the quality of life. improve the quality of human resources for the development of Agriculture and Rural Development, the local and regional socio-economic development.
The school is currently training 3 levels: College, Intermediate and Beginner with 22 training disciplines and occupations, including 2 key international occupations (Metal cutting, Industrial electricity), 3 key occupations in the area. ASEAN (Automotive Technology, Welding Technology and Construction Engineering), 2 national key occupations (Structural Machine Operator, Air Conditioning and Air Conditioning Engineering).
In order to improve the quality of training, over the years, Viet Xo College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering regularly renews its thinking in vocational training, focusing on training teachers and managers. Currently, there are 155 lecturers, including 1 doctorate, 93 master, 11 graduate level staff, 56 university degree staff. The school's teachers are qualified as professional education teachers.
In the academic year 2019-2020, the school was assigned an enrollment target of 1,700 students by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. With the efforts of all staff, the school has recruited 2,059 students. In which, there are 340 students, 1,544 students at intermediate level.
The 2019-2020 school year is a school year with many difficulties in training due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, training plans and teaching methods must change, most of the theoretical content and some Practical content the school has applied the form of online teaching.
With the spirit of proactively overcoming difficulties of all staff and teachers, the training plan for the school year was still completed with good results. The school has successfully organized graduation exams for 1,886 students of courses: 20, 21 and 22, of which: College (368 students), Intermediate (1,343 students), Beginner (175 students). As a result, 95% students graduated for the first time, the rate of Good - Excellent was 56%.
In order to improve research and self-study, right from the beginning of the school year, the school has launched a movement to research to make models, learning tools, and to improve technology for all staff, teachers and students. students in school.
Results, number of innovations, technical solutions, model of registered learning instruments (29); the number of innovative inventions, technical solutions, and models of learning instruments accepted by the school's Science Council (23); the number of improved lights recognized by the provincial Department of Science and Technology (4). At the National DIY Equipment Contest, the school participated in 3 models/equipment, all 3 won prizes.

Promote job placement and international cooperation:
Introducing jobs to students is one of the important goals, which the school commits to students right from the moment they enter the school. Every year, recruitment information of businesses inside and outside Ninh Binh province is disseminated to all students preparing to graduate for them to learn and choose.
Thereby, most of the students after graduation have jobs in accordance with their trained industry/occupations with a salary of 5-7 million VND/month, some of them have an income of over 10 million VND/month right away. after graduation. The employment results of students after 12 months after graduation reached over 85%, of which, over 50 % were directly introduced by the professional department.
Regarding international cooperation, the University still exchanges training program content with French vocational schools for 3 piloted occupations under the French training program within the framework of the Project of the Development Agency. French Development (AFD) is Automotive Technology; Metal cutting; Industrial electricity.
In 2020, the school signed a memorandum of cooperation with KooKje University of Korea on the content of student training and teacher training. However, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the cooperation contents have not been implemented.

In 2020, despite many common difficulties due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the school continues to promote and improve the quality of training.
